“Y Yoga Movie” was created over six years by Klein. Take a peek into the teachings, classes and homes of the world’s most prolific yoga teachers. We hear from Erich Schiffmann, Shiva Rea, Hala Khouri, Bryan Kest, Ally Hamilton, Ashley Turner and many others. The film is an inspiring peek into the different reasons people make time for a yoga practice.

Erich Schiffmann Awakened Heart, Embodied Mind Master Class

This Sunday, Erich Schiffmann is teaching a 3 hour Master Class at Exhale Yoga in Venice, California. I am so grateful for Erich’s mentoring; he is one of the main reasons that I teach in the way I do. I will be there on Sunday and hope to see you too.

This documentary takes an inspiring look into the worldwide community of BoardRiders. It defines what boarding culture is about and shows the impact of boardheads in unique and empowering ways. Individually and collectively, the global tribe of riders makes the world a cooler place.

Starting with a brief history of the evolution of board sports, the film takes you around the world and into the lives of some not so typical, yet very inspirational riders. The rugged, soulful voice of narrator Michael Madsen helps guide viewers on a journey into the boarding culture and the empowering experiences shared by this worldwide community. From voices of pros, enthusiasts and novices, this informational and uplifting movie also presents powerful life lessons. The sense of freedom one gets from being on a board and “sharing the stoke” is echoed throughout all board sports, giving the audience a sense of unity and community. The deeper messages are subtle using board riding as a metaphor for living a full and complete life. Locations include natural settings like the Brisbane River in Australia, lakes and beaches from Hawaii, South Africa and California, to Miami and the Caribbean…even Thailand, high in the mountains of New Zealand and Europe, and famous landmarks such as New York’s Times Square and the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

In a world where the population continues to grow, technology continues to advance and problems and solutions rise and fall like the waves of the ocean, it is refreshing to see a community redefining itself to serve a greater purpose of compassion, connection and contribution to humanity. “BoardHeads” captures this culture in an entertaining and uplifting style. And Madsen’s final voice over sums things up perfectly: “We’re all just boardheads at heart!”

My good friend and fellow filmmaker Davo and I have followed similar paths creating our films. Instead of getting funding from studios, we decided to use our years of experience and our own money and equipment to create films that showcase communities making a difference. I’m proud to have helped him produce such an inspirational and touching film.

This I feel is a pretty fair account of the situation…Love to you all xoxoxo…. By the way I will write more as the numbness settles and clarity is regained…Today a sense of cautious calm is definitely in the air…I am fine I know Angels surround me and keep me from fear!!!!
